Do you work hard to keep up on your oral health? If so, you probably know that brushing twice every day, flossing daily, and visiting our team once every six months are incredibly important to your oral health. While each of these steps is important, there are a few other things you can do and foods you can eat to protect your teeth. For example, did you know that the foods you eat can impact your teeth?

Similarly, you may know that calcium is vital for bone strength. Similarly, calcium can also strengthen your teeth. Of course, there are different foods and drinks that contain plenty of calcium, such as milk and cheese. These foods can strengthen your enamel, while highly acidic foods can actually weaken it.

Phosphorous, another vital mineral, is another important part of your diet. You see, this mineral can replace minerals that your enamel has lost. Fortunately, there are several good sources of phosphorous, including almonds, peanuts, cashews, and other nuts. Nuts are also helpful because they promote saliva production, which will also help strengthen and protect your teeth. Another good source of phosphorous is meat.

Lastly, remember that following a balanced diet is also very important for your children’s teeth. Still, getting your child to eat these healthy foods can be a struggle. However, you could also try giving them vegetables with a dip, cheddar cheese, apples, watermelon, and yogurt with berries in it.
